Annual Home Education Evaluation

In accordance with Florida Statutes Section 1002.41, every student registered in a Florida Home Education Program must complete an annual educational evaluation to demonstrate academic progress.

At Faith Builders Christian Academy, our Annual Home Education Evaluation provides a supportive, professional, and encouraging environment where families can confidently fulfill this requirement while celebrating their child’s growth.

This is not a stressful test — it is a meaningful review of your child’s progress and a time to reflect on the school year.

What This Evaluation Includes

This is a 1-hour private session for up to 2 students per family. During our time together, we will:

• Review each student’s portfolio

• Discuss academic progress

• Reflect on strengths and growth areas

• Answer homeschool-related questions

• Provide guidance for the upcoming school year (if desired)

Families often use this time not only to meet state requirements, but also to gain clarity and direction moving forward.

Portfolio Preparation

Please have a completed portfolio ready for each student. You’re welcome to present the portfolios in whatever format works best for your family. Here are some common options:

• Show it during our virtual or in-person meeting

• Email it at least 24 hours in advance (preferred)

• Share a private digital portfolio (Google Drive, website, etc.)

Portfolios are a beautiful reflection of your homeschool journey — creativity is welcome!

Student Participation

Each student should be present during the evaluation. They may:

• Share highlights from their portfolio, or

• Be present while the parent presents on their behalf

I may ask light, conversational questions about what they enjoyed learning, favorite subjects, or projects completed. The goal is encouragement — not pressure.

After the Evaluation

Following our meeting, I will complete and provide a signed written evaluation confirming that your child has demonstrated educational progress in accordance with Florida law. You will receive your completed documentation promptly via email.
